LaBudde Special Collections at UMKC Libraries holds sixteen facsimile Mesoamerican codices, two of which are currently on display at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in the featured exhibition Painted Worlds: Color and Culture in Mesoamerican Art, on view at the museum through February 8, 2026. Join us on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 5:00-6:15 pm to view the collection of facsimile codices on display in the Special Collections and Archives Reading Room! From 5:00 to 6:15 we welcome you to examine the codices alongside our curators in the Special Collections & Archives Reading Room, and enjoy refreshments in the Special Collections Gallery.

This event is free and open to the public. Metered parking is available in the lot north of Miller Nichols Library, located at 800 E. 51st Street, Kansas City, MO, 64110. The Special Collections & Archives Reading Room is on the third floor of the library.
