Join the Center for Recorded Music and the Marr Sound Archives for The Marr Sessions, a listening series highlighting a different recording from the sound archives each month.

The full album is played at each one-hour session. Doors open at 6:30pm. Sessions are held at The Listyning Room, where seating is limited. Get tickets in advance. The August session theme is Dolly Parton's "New Harvest...First Gathering"

From the Center for Recorded Music: "Marking a defining turning point in her legendary career, New Harvest...First Gathering was Parton’s eighteenth solo studio album—and her very first self-produced project. Released shortly after breaking away from her long-standing partnership with Porter Wagoner, the album represents a bold step into total creative freedom. Blending her deep country roots with pop, R&B, and gospel textures, the album produced classics like the triumphant lead single "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" and the nostalgic fan-favorite "Applejack". The audio archivists from Marr Sound Archives will introduce the record, offering insights into its production history, cultural impact, and unique place in Dolly's discography."
