Shining a Light Concert
This concert features UMKC Conservatory students performing music from our Shining a Light Collection. Founded in 2020, the collection includes 21st century music from more than 170 underrepresented composers. Join us for the concert, followed by a short reception. FREE and open to the public.
The concert includes:
- Libertango, by Astor Piazzolla, arranged by Jeff Scott. Performed by Plaza Winds.
- Great Camelot, by Juliana Hall. Performed by Riley Buck, tenor, and Jared Agee, piano.
- Gavel Patter, by Libby Larsen. Performed by Esther Jihye Han and Andreas Landstedt, piano four hands.
- Copperwave, by Joan Tower. Performed by Volker Brass.
- Memory (for flute), by Chen Yi. Performed by Melanie Rodríguez Díaz, flute.
- Electric Aroma, by Viet Cuong. Performed by Full Gremlin.
